The largest commercially available collection of numerical algorithms for C and C++ just got bigger. The Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), Lisle, Ill., has expanded its NAG C Library, widely used for mechanical engineering application development. Over 150 additions were made — for a total of more than 1,300 functions — many of which are key to modeling mechanical systems and similar mechanical engineering research.

The updated library includes two new chapters on wavelet transforms and global optimization as well as a new sub-chapter on option pricing. Enhancements in statistics, optimization, linear algebra, ordinary differential equations, regression, random numbers, sorting, and special functions are also included.
